The National Observatory of Forest Fires (NOFFi) was presented to a Korean Forest Service delegation in Athens. The presentation that took place at the offices of the Central Forest Service was followed by a short excursion to Mountain Hymettos that was burned in 2015.
FMRS, in collabortion with i-BEC (the interBalkan Environment Center), organised a two-day dissemination workshop within the frame of the NOFFi project. The deputy Minister of Environment and Energy as well senior officials from different state agencies such as the Forest Service, Civil Protection and Fire Service attended the very succesful event.
FMRS participated at the ‘Forest ecosystems in the conditions of climate change: regional and international dimensions’ international conference that took place in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia during the period 17-19 May 2017. The conference was an EFI associated event that was organised by Volga State University of Technology and the ‘Public Diplomacy EU and Russia’.

FMRS received ‘award of excellence‘ from the rectorate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During the ceremony that took place at the Aristotle University Main Hall the most important distinctions received by AUTh members during the year 2016 were awarded.
